Introduction

These Terms outline your rights and responsibilities when using Granite and explain the conditions under which we provide the Service. Please read them carefully.

1. Description of Service

Granite is a personal finance management tool designed to help you understand and manage your daily spending. The Service calculates a daily spendable budget based on your provided income, fixed expenses, savings goals, and eligible transaction data made available from your linked financial accounts. Features include budget forecasting, spending insights, and optional notifications. Supported mobile releases may also provide AI-assisted price-photo scanning and voice transaction entry that prepare suggested manual transaction details for your review.

Granite Assistant and related AI features are non-transactional advisory tools. They may summarize account activity, surface trends, estimate future spending, or help you navigate Granite, but they do not move money, place trades, open or close accounts, guarantee balances or future funds, or make credit, eligibility, underwriting, employment, insurance, housing, or other legally significant decisions for you.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use the Service. By using Granite, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

3. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account login information and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account.

4. Third-Party Services (Plaid)

To connect eligible financial accounts and retrieve transaction information as it becomes available, Granite uses Plaid Inc. ("Plaid"). By using our Service, you grant us and Plaid the right, power, and authority to act on your behalf to access and transmit your personal and financial information from your relevant financial institution. You agree to your personal and financial information being transferred, stored, and processed by Plaid in accordance with the Plaid End User Privacy Policy.

5. AI Features and User Control

Granite may offer AI-assisted features, including Savings Insights, assistant summaries, plain-language explanations of deterministic budget or transaction results, price-photo scanning, and voice transaction entry. These features may use model, inference, hosting, speech-recognition, or workflow providers acting on Granite's behalf or as a device-platform provider.

For AI transaction capture, Granite may send an external AI provider a photo you select or the final speech-to-text transcript you review, together with available transaction categories and limited date or currency context. Device speech recognition may be provided by Apple or an available Android service under the device permission notice and settings. Granite's external AI provider receives the final transcript rather than the raw voice recording.

Where Granite relies on consent for optional external AI processing, accepting these Terms does not provide that consent. Granite presents a separate in-product disclosure and control. You may decline or withdraw that consent and continue using available manual entry and deterministic budget features. More information appears in our Privacy Policy.

AI transaction capture creates a suggestion, not a completed transaction. You are responsible for reviewing the merchant or item, amount, date, currency, and category before saving. Saving creates a manual Granite transaction; it does not charge a card, move money, or create an entry at your bank. If a connected account later imports the same purchase, you are responsible for reviewing the possible duplicate so it is not counted twice.

AI-assisted outputs are generated from available Granite data and may be incomplete, delayed, inaccurate, or based on assumptions. You should review account records, tax documents, and professional guidance before making financial, investment, tax, legal, accounting, credit, insurance, or retirement decisions.

Granite does not use AI-assisted outputs to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects, including credit approval, underwriting, employment, housing, insurance eligibility, or access to essential services. Granite does not use transaction-capture photos or voice input for biometric identification or emotion recognition.

6. Ownership, Limited License, and Acceptable Use

The Service and the materials Granite makes available through it—including Granite's software, interfaces, designs, documentation, Learn content, text, graphics, logos, branding, screenshots, videos, and the selection and arrangement of those materials (collectively, the "Granite Materials")—are owned by Granite or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property and other applicable laws. Except for the limited rights expressly granted in these Terms, Granite and its licensors reserve all rights in the Service and Granite Materials.

Granite does not acquire ownership of the personal or financial information you provide or make available through connected accounts. Our collection, use, disclosure, and retention of that information are described in our Privacy Policy.

You retain any rights you have in photos, transcripts, prompts, and other content you submit. You give Granite a limited right to host, transmit, reformat, analyze, and otherwise process that content only as reasonably necessary to provide the feature you requested, secure and troubleshoot the Service, comply with law, and perform the processing described in the Privacy Policy.

You must have the right to submit content to Granite. When using price scanning, frame the price and item closely and avoid capturing faces, payment cards, identity documents, addresses, private communications, health information, or other personal information that is not needed for the transaction. Do not use voice entry to submit another person's confidential or personal information without authorization.

Subject to these Terms, Granite grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service and Granite Materials for your personal, non-commercial use. You may link to publicly available Granite pages and quote brief portions of public Granite Materials with appropriate attribution, provided your use is lawful and does not imply Granite's endorsement or affiliation.

You may not, and may not assist another person or service to:

• reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, license, or create a substitute for a substantial portion of the Service or Granite Materials, except with Granite's written permission or as permitted by applicable law;
• copy Granite Materials or product presentation in a way that falsely suggests affiliation, approval, sponsorship, or origin from Granite;
• reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive source code, non-public models, or non-public systems from the Service, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits that activity;
• access or attempt to access another user's account, non-public data, or non-public areas of the Service without authorization;
• bypass or interfere with authentication, authorization, technical protections, usage limits, rate limits, robots directives, or other access controls;
• use automated means to collect user-specific information, extract or republish a substantial portion of Granite Materials, or place an unreasonable load on the Service; or
• introduce malicious code, disrupt the Service, or scan, probe, or test the Service for vulnerabilities without Granite's prior authorization.

General-purpose search engines and discovery services may crawl and index publicly accessible Granite pages when they follow Granite's published technical directives, do not access authenticated or user-specific information, and do not substantially republish the Granite Materials. Nothing in these Terms restricts quotation, commentary, accessibility, interoperability, security research, or other uses that cannot lawfully be restricted.

Granite may investigate suspected violations and may suspend or terminate access to protect the Service, its users, or third parties. Granite's failure to enforce a provision in one instance does not waive its right to enforce that provision in another instance.

7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided for informational purposes only and is not intended to provide legal, tax, accounting, investment, retirement, insurance, credit, or other professional financial advice. Granite is not a financial planner, investment adviser, broker, fiduciary, accountant, or tax advisor. Your financial situation is unique, and any decisions you make based on information from our Service are your sole responsibility.

Nothing in the Service is a recommendation to buy, sell, hold, liquidate, transfer, or borrow against any asset, product, or account. Granite does not guarantee savings, returns, yields, tax outcomes, account availability, or the suitability of any course of action.

Budget forecasts, categorization outputs, anomaly detection, and photo- or voice-derived transaction suggestions are estimates and may be incomplete, delayed, or incorrect. They are not guarantees of future account balances, cash availability, spending outcomes, or financial performance. You are responsible for verifying important information before acting on it.

Granite Assistant is not intended to serve as the sole basis for decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects. If you need account-specific support, dispute resolution, or human review of an assistant response, contact us through Granite support.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMISSIBLE BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES THAT RESULT FROM THE USE OF, OR THE INABILITY TO USE, THE SERVICE.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or waives consumer, privacy, data-protection, or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted in your country of residence.

8. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to our Service at any time, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or through your account settings, if available.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Where required by applicable law, we will provide additional notice of a material change and request a new agreement or consent before it takes effect. Your continued use after the effective date otherwise constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
